This educational, non-profit site is dedicated to all of us who remember (and those who want to learn about) “NBC Monitor,” the wonderful weekend radio program that aired from June 12, 1955, to January 26, 1975.
“Monitor” was the Last Great Network Radio Show. Pat Weaver’s brainchild began as a 40-consecutive hour weekend extravaganza, with news, sports, comedy, variety, interviews and remote pick-ups from around the world. Explore these links and you will discover a world of information about “Monitor.” And best of all, you’ll again hear the “Monitor Beacon” and parts of the program itself. Thanks to the following for their great contributions to this site in 2000, when we first went online:
the (former) NBC Radio Network,
Sylvester L. “Pat” Weaver Jr.,
Gene Garnes,

So sit back, browse around, and get set for a nostalgic trip to radio’s past, on the “Monitor Beacon.”
And keep watching this site. Every month, we will add new audio clips and new print material about “Monitor.”
